My Story
Hi there, Claire here!
For as long as I can remember, animals have been part of my world. Big dogs, little cats, muddy paws on the floor, soft snoring at my feet, and tearful goodbyes at the vet. They’ve walked beside me through all of life’s seasons, offering a kind of love that words never quite capture.
Paw Atelier was never meant to be a business in the usual sense. It started with something much simpler. A need. A longing, really. After I lost one of my pets, I wanted something to help me feel close to them again. Not loud or shiny. Just something I could wear and quietly remember. A little piece of love I didn’t want to let go of.
So I began sketching from my home in Maleny, a small town in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast hinterland. Not to chase trends, but to create something meaningful. A name in silver. A paw resting near your heart. Something that says, without needing to speak, you were loved.
Over the years, what started at my kitchen table grew into something I never expected. Not a big company, but a community. Pet lovers from across the country found their way here, each carrying their own story. Stories of joyful beginnings and bittersweet goodbyes. Dogs who changed everything. Cats who understood you better than anyone else ever could.
With every message, every photo, every shared tear and smile, I saw what this really was. It was not just jewellery. It was memory. It was connection. It was a quiet way to keep them with you, always.
Now, after 33 years, I’m retiring. These final collections are the last chapter of something that has meant so much to me. Each piece is still made with care, one at a time, just like in the beginning. Not because it's the easiest way, but because it’s the way that feels right. With hands and heart, and with deep respect for the lives and stories behind every name that comes through my door.
